An excellent list. Self-education is our strength, amplified by sharing the information outside the ‘usual’ institutions which are unavailable to many, and are, as you say, being robbed of their libraries through nefarious means.
I have a strong traditional education (multiple degrees). Yet, I've learned so much more outside of my formal schooling than I have within it - although the formal schooling helped me engage with material that I didn't necessarily agree with, taught me how to learn, so to speak.
Self-education is really important, and is particularly important in hearing a variety of voices and perspectives, and information that is not available in the usual institutions, as you framed it.
This is amazing, thank you! I grew up learning about feminism from the (mostly white) US perspective and have been looking for writers from other parts of the world. This helps a lot!
Wonderful list! This is a great resource. I’ve put woman at point zero on my list for Egypt. I’ll get to others as I can, but I have a particular interest in the book on the founder of Chinese feminism because my children are Chinese. Oh it’s at my library. Just put it on hold.
Ugh I love so many of these recommendations! I’ve got a few reading lists going on my Goodreads but my categories are much more general you have me brainstorming better ways to organize.
If you happen to have it I’d love to swap recommendations!

Thank you so much for reading!

So did I, it’s been more difficult to find other sources
Thank you!
You're welcome 💜

There’s a pdf of it online, so it’s available for free, also.
Oh that’s fantastic! Got it!
I meant "Woman at Point Zero", sorry! I was walking and typing earlier. The Chinese feminist book - probably the library is the better way to go.
Your mistake was a lucky one. I found the Chinese feminist book available to download in pdf! and now I’ll look for woman at point zero
Oh! That's fantastic.
Thank you! A reminder to myself to work through my backlog
You're welcome! You could start with the essays - since they're shorter.
